Rey Gonzalez Q1 2026 "Jack Hill" Employee of the Quarter

At Mika Metal Fabricating, we are proud to recognize team members who consistently demonstrate hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude. For Q1 2026, we are excited to spotlight Rey Gonzalez as our Jack Hill Employee of the Quarter! 

A Year of Growth at Mika

Rey has been a valued member of the Mika team for one year. During that time, he has gained experience in a variety of roles throughout the shop, including painting, assembly, bending, deburring, and spot welding. His versatility and willingness to take on new challenges have made him a dependable contributor to the team

When he’s not at work, Rey enjoys expressing his creativity. He describes himself as an artist, who creates pen and ink drawings that bring realistic and cartoon styles to life on paper. He also shared he has quite the sense of humor, and takes pride in making others laugh. This and his positive attitude help create an enjoyable atmosphere for those around him. 

Life Outside of Work

Outside of Mika, Rey enjoys shopping, attending concerts, and watching movies. Some concerts he has recently attended include Meyhem Lauren and Wu-Tang Clan. His favorite movie is Beat Street, directed by Stan Lathan. These hobbies allow him to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. 

Living Mika's Core Values

 Among Mika's core values, Rey identifies most with Continuous Improvement and Fans First. These values align with his commitment to developing his skills and contributing to the success of both the team and our customers. 

A Proud Accomplishment

One accomplishment Rey is particularly proud of is his ability to spot weld more than 100 perforated autoclave sterilization baskets in a single day. This achievement reflects the dedication, consistency, and craftsmanship he brings to his work every day.

When asked what he enjoys most about working at Mika, Rey shared that he appreciates being part of a company where employees have a voice and can be heard. The supportive culture and open communication help make Mika a place where team members can grow and succeed together. 

Biggest Inspiration

Rey's biggest inspiration is his father. The lessons, guidance, and example set by his father continue to motivate him both personally and professionally. 

Dream Destination

If time and money were no object, Rey would travel to Dubai and experience life like royalty. The opportunity to explore a new culture and enjoy everything the city has to offer is at the top of his bucket list.

When asked which animal best represents his personality, Rey chose a lion. He relates to the lion's bravery, confidence, and willingness to face challenges head-on. These qualities are reflected in both his work and personal life.
