A Journey of Growth at Mika
At Mika, our people are the heart of everything we do. This quarter, we’re proud to spotlight one of our standout team members, Chris Winter. Since joining Mika just over two and a half years ago, Chris has grown into a key contributor on our operations team and continues to embody the values that define our culture.
Chris began his journey with us as a punch operator. When the opportunity arose to support the laser team, he quickly stepped in and broadened his expertise. His drive to learn and willingness to take on new challenges led to his current role as a CNC punch operator, where he plays an essential part in keeping production running smoothly.
Reliable, Focused, and Proud of His Work
Those who work with Chris often describe him as a hard worker dependable, focused, and determined. He takes great pride in making sure things are done the right way. That level of care and consistency makes him a standout on the shop floor.
Living the Values: Team Always & The Greater Good
When reflecting on the company’s values, Chris shared that "Team Always" and "The Greater Good" resonate with him most. He appreciates the culture of support and collaboration that exists at Mika, where coworkers are always ready to help each other, no matter the task. He also enjoys the camaraderie they share, saying his team is “always good for a laugh.”
A Milestone of Personal Progress
One of Chris’s proudest accomplishments since joining Mika was being able to purchase a brand-new vehicle after his previous one broke down. That milestone symbolized more than just transportation it represented personal progress, financial stability, and a clear step forward in his journey.
Outside the Shop: Family, Nature, and Music
Outside of work, Chris finds joy in the outdoors. He spends his free time skiing, fishing, hiking, and attending concerts. He credits his dad as his biggest inspiration someone who has always put family first and generously gives his time to others. Chris strives to reflect those same values in his own life.
Big Dreams and Global Curiosity
As for future goals, Chris dreams of traveling far and wide. He’d love to explore the National Parks across the U.S. and visit the historic landmarks and architecture of Europe. His curiosity and appreciation for culture and nature go hand in hand with his thoughtful personality.
The Heart of a Teammate
Chris Winter exemplifies what it means to grow with Mika. He brings dedication, teamwork, and heart to everything he does both on and off the shop floor. His journey is a great example of how consistency, curiosity, and community-mindedness can lead to personal and professional success.
What Animal Best Represents Chris?
If we had to describe Chris as an animal, it would be the ox. Steady, strong, and reliable, the ox symbolizes quiet strength and hard work. Much like Chris, it keeps moving forward with purpose, no matter the challenge.
