Mika is excited to announce our newest winner of the “Jack Hill” Employee of the Quarter, Alex Norris! Voted by her peers, Alex was happy to accept the newly named award in honor of our late Jack Hill.
Alex’s Path:
Alex started her career with Mika in January 2022 as a Press Brake Operator. She quickly became known as the girl who comes in to "get it done" by her coworkers. When it comes to working at Mika, what Alex likes best is, “It's clean, and everyone helps as best as they can.” Despite struggling with the challenges of Autism and ADHD, Alex has conquered every new machine put in front of her and always put her best foot forward by pushing through barriers.

Outside of Work:
Alex is a determined young lady, and we could not be more impressed because her work is always top-notch. Alex would describe herself as straightforward, honest, hardworking, and polite. When she is not at work, Alex enjoys cross-stitching, video games, doing puzzles, cooking, and sewing. We asked, "if money was no object, where in the world would you like to go?" Alex said she would opt to be at home, finishing projects.
Fun facts about Alex:
Alex’s proudest moment was in 2016 during her time at Auburn Career Center when her landscape team did a project for an Easter-themed garden display at the mall . Also, a little know fact, is that Alex never learned to ride a bicycle. She said, "I never got the hang of it." When it comes to snacks, Oreos are her favorite!
If she had to pick, her favorite movie would be Doom, a 2005 science fiction. It's based on the video game series of the same name, where the Marines are on a mission to rescue a facility on Mars, but encounter demonic-like creatures. Alex describes herself as the "cat whisperer". She is currently fur mom to six beautiful cats named Dora, Swiper, Marshmallow, Sa’me, Noodle, and Jorge.
