Mark Fiscus Q2 2024 "Jack Hill" Employee of the Quarter

We are pleased to announce Mark Fiscus, Fabrication Associate, as the recipient of the “Jack Hill” Employee of the Quarter Award for the second quarter of 2024!   

Marks Journey: 

Mark is a valued member of the Mika team, having been with us for nearly a year and a half. From his first day on the job, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication and believes his colleagues would say the same too. Throughout his tenure, Mark has excelled in our deburring department and expanded his skills in various areas such as masking, press brake, spot welding, drilling and tapping.IMG_8794

Why Mika:

Mark embodies Mika's Core Values, particularly “Fans First,” which emphasizes the importance of customer satisfaction. He believes that prioritizing our customers is essential to sustaining our business. Another Core Value “Team Always,” resonates with him as well, due to the collaborative spirit among his fellow colleagues.

As an avid sports enthusiast Mark particularly embraces a team mentality.  Perhaps that is best demonstrated by his exceptional attendance record. Mark is never late or takes unscheduled time off despite using public transportation for his commute. Mark commented, "I don't want to be the person who causes a fellow employee extra work; or, lets a customer down because a job couldn't be shipped on time due to my absence or tardiness."   

As a devoted family man and father of two sons, Anthony and Austin, Mark appreciates the supportive, family-like atmosphere at Mika, where everyone works well together. 

Reflecting on his Q2 Employee of the Quarter Award and other professional accomplishments, Mark shares, “My journey has been, first and foremost, about providing for my family by becoming an indispensable asset to Mika Metal Fabricating from day one.” 

Fun Facts: 

Outside of work, Mark has a diverse range of interests.He enjoys fishing in the Chagrin River in Willoughby, Ohio and enjoys Cleveland sports, including basketball, baseball, and hockey.

He likens his personality to that of a wolf, symbolizing loyalty and the ability to thrive within a pack.   

 

Who Inspires Mark:

GettyImages-45803351-16x9-1-1We asked Mark about his inspiration, and he cited Kobe Bryant as a significant influence. Mark admires Kobe for his unwavering determination and the "Mamba Mentality." He explained, "The Mamba Mentality is all about focusing on the process and trusting in hard work when it matters most."
